Information we may collect
- Technical information such as IP address, browser, device, requested pages, timestamps and security logs.
- Identity and contact information you choose to provide when contacting us or using a future application form.
- Your correspondence, enquiries, preferences and records connected with a membership or commercial relationship.
The current presentation site does not create member accounts, take payments or use analytics or advertising trackers. The Gatehouse question is a visual experience. The submitted answer is checked in the browser and is not retained; after a correct answer, the browser remembers only that admission was completed so the introduction is not repeatedly shown. It is not used to make a legal or similarly significant automated decision.
03
Why we use information
04
Sharing and international transfers
We may use carefully selected providers for website hosting, security, email, administration and professional advice. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell personal information.
Where a provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, we use an applicable adequacy regulation or contractual and organisational safeguards required by UK data protection law.
05
Retention and security
We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, security and dispute-resolution needs. Retention is determined by the nature of the information, the relationship and any applicable legal requirement. We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
06
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, and receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests and to direct marketing. To exercise a right, write to the Data Protection Contact at the registered office above. We may need to verify your identity.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
